Gûlyabani is a cryptid, a mythological creature, a giant or a demon that keeps appearing in Arabic, Persian and Anatolian folk tales. They have their feet in reverse, bears a lot of hair, is tall like a giant, smells horribly and appears to those who wander alone in deserts or graveyards. Scary right? On another side, they like to wear women’s dresses, braid ponytails and visit children playing games to make them laugh. They also like to lick the feet of travelers who sleep by themselves until their feet becomes so thin that it starts bleeding allowing them to drink their blood until they perish. This cryptid gained cult status and nation wide fame when it was portrayed in 1976 turkish comedy movie Süt Kardeşler, a legend of its kind for Turkey’s cinema.
We would have no other patron than the cross-dressing, playful and deadly monster with a foot fetish: Gûlyabani for our first ever Halloween show to come! You will meet Gûlyabani and who knows what other horror legends from our heritages. Your DJs for the 2-floor takeover extravaganza are curated by Toby Kind to give you both the creeps and the boogies: Hešhek is joining us once again from Tel Aviv with a DJ set that will keep you on the dancefloor until we are shooed out. East London legendary DJ and co-creator of MEAT nights Fannar will be playing for his soul while the euro-music dj duo Dreamy composed of Felixir & our own Martha Barbra will bring the Nightmare edition of their Dreamy night for this one, haunting you and your dance moves with a selection of Dark Disco. Harem Soundsystem, a dj project by Harem of No One performers will debut for this one as well and we will give no clues as to what you can expect from this big reveal! Performances will feature throughout the night taking you to this camp queer horror journey!
the last but not the least, we want you to take the stage and walk the walk at Sassy Freaky Runway, to channel all the spirits, all the witches and demons among ourselves. This is an open call ! Get your look together and join us on a very special runway and haunt us through the night!
